This is my number one hummus recipe! With a couple of straightforward tricks, you truly can make rich smooth hand crafted hummus and indeed, we truly believe it’s superior to locally acquired.
Makes: 2 cups
- 1 1/2 cup Cooked chickpeas or canned chickpeas ( rinsed and drained)
- 1/4 cup Tahini paste
- 1 large garlic, minced
- 1/4 onion
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/4 cup Fresh Lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/2 tsp hot pepper sauce
- Place chickpeas in blender or food processor with tahini, garlic, lemon juice, oil, cumin and salt.
- Puree, adding just enough water to make the mixture creamy and smooth.
In fridge for storage after use.
