Chickpea Hummus

This is my number one hummus recipe! With a couple of straightforward tricks, you truly can make rich smooth hand crafted hummus and indeed, we truly believe it’s superior to locally acquired.


Makes: 2 cups



  • 1 1/2 cup Cooked chickpeas or  canned chickpeas ( rinsed and drained)
  • 1/4 cup Tahini paste
  • 1 large garlic, minced
  • 1/4 onion
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp hot pepper sauce


  1. Place chickpeas in blender or food processor with tahini, garlic, lemon juice, oil, cumin and salt.
  2. Puree, adding just enough water to make the mixture creamy and smooth.

In fridge for storage after use.
