Distinct Flavor Chicken Biryani
Chicken Biryani is a well known rice dish. It is a magnificent dish of spices, saffron and caramelized onions with tomatoes, and fragrant flavor of rice.
- 2-1/2 cup Basmati rice
- 1 kg chicken
- ½ bunch chopped mint leaves
- 1/2 tbsp salt
- 2 tbsp garlic paste
- 2 tbsp tomato puree
- 2 cup white onion
- 2 cup tomatoes
- 1 tsp green chili
- 1 tbsp green cardamom
- 1 ½ tsp garam masala powder
- 1 tbsp cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp saffron
- 1 tsp nutmeg and Mace powder
- 4-5 drops yellow food color
- 1 tsp Refined oil
- ½ teaspoon chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon powdered turmeric
- ½ cup yogurt
FOR YUMMY BIRYANI FOLLOW STEPS AS UNDER:
Step 1- Marinate the chicken for 20-30 minutes
To prepare this mouth-watering yummy biryani recipe, marinate the chicken. Take a large bowl and add yogurt in it along with turmeric, chili powder along with salt as per your taste in a small bowl. Mix well using a spoon and then, add the chicken in the mixture and mix it. Keep aside for about 20-30 minutes. Also, soak saffron in the milk to make saffron milk and keep aside.
Step 2- Saute onions and tomatoes for 2-3 minutes
After that, pour refined oil in a deep-bottomed pan, keeping it on medium flame. Add cumin seeds and green cardamom in it and fry for about 2 minutes. Now, immediately add the sliced onion and fry for 2-3 minutes. Don’t burn it, so when the onion starts to get brown in color, add tomatoes and tomato puree and fry for another 5 minutes.
Step 3- Add the marinated chicken in pan
Next, add the green chilies in pan along with ginger-garlic paste, frying the mixture yet again for a minute. Then, add coriander powder and turn the flame to medium-low while mixing and cook the masala. Immediately, add the marinated chicken.
Step 4- Cook on low heat for 5-6 minutes
Turn the flame to medium again cook for 5-6 minutes. Cover with a lid and let simmer for 5 minutes. Make sure to keep stirring else the chicken might stick to the bottom. You can add little water, if you find the consistency too thick.
Turn off the flame
Step 5-Boil rice
Now boil rice with salt, green cardamom, green chilies, few mint leaves ½ inch cinnamon stick, 5 black pepper. Boil it for 7 min and drain water.
Step 6– Add half of the boiled rice
Add half of the boiled rice in the pan. Sprinkle milk soaked saffron along with chicken masala, mint and coriander leaves. Put the remaining rice over this layer and garnish with the same mentioned four ingredients. Also add 2 pinches of nutmeg and mace powder or you can add biryani essence few drops.
Step 7– Serve with your favourite salad
Lastly, cover the lid, turn the flame to low and let the rice cook for about 10 minutes. Once done, put it off and let the biryani stay covered for about another 5 minutes. Serve hot, along with your favorite salad.
Step 8– Easy tips to keep in mind
- If your cooked rice has turned sticky, spread it on a plate and leave them for 5 minutes. The rice will be separate and beautiful again.
- Freshly pound spices bring out the best taste in Biryani.
- One leveled tb spoon of salt and 1 cooking spoon of refined oil is enough for 2 cups of rice it’s my experienced measurement.
- 4.an interesting tip after boiling rice don’t wash them and don’t leave to let them cool because it will ruin biryani,after boiling quickly layer them and put them on low flame.
